The Intelink-U (Unclassified) is a U.S. Government, Joint-use, remotely accessed, and operationally implemented information service that is used to access and process unclassified, publicly availible information only. It provides a protected environment to exchange authorized unclassified, unclassified for official use only, and sensitive but unclassified information among personnel of the Defense, the Diplomatic, the Homeland Security, the Intelligence, and the Law Enforcement communities. The Intelink-U firewalls protect users and allow customers to access the public Internet; thus giving Intelink-U users a single point of access to an unprecedented amount of unclassified open source information.

Versions on different intranets

JWICS, SIPRNet, and Intelink-U are home to the three different variants of Intellipedia.

Intelink-U (Intelink-UnclassifiedNet) was formerly known as Intelink-SBU and Open Source Information System OSIS.

Intelink-S (Intelink-SecretNet) is the secret-level variant of Intelink. Intelink-S operates on SIPRNet.

The Intelligence Community's Intelink-TS (Intelink-SCI) facilitates sharing intelligence products up to the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level. Intelink-TS operates on JWICS.

Intelink-P (Intelink-PolicyNet) is run by the CIA as CIA’s sole-source link to the White House and other high-level, intelligence consumers.

Intelink-C (Intelink-Commonwealth) links the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. This network is also known as STONEGHOST.
